Former Memphis Tigers hoops star arrested on drug charges

With a blue-collar toughness, star point guard Andre Allen was a pivotal figure on the University of Memphis Tigers basketball team from 3005 to 2008. Alongside transcendent talent Derrick Rose, the undersized Allen helped the Tigers win a record 38 games in his senior season. The Tigers fell just short of winning a national championship, in part because Allen was kicked off of the squad just prior to the Final Four after he failed a NCAA-mandated drug test.

The criminal charges associated with prescription drugs

Prescription drugs serve an important purpose because they help to treat the symptoms in those suffering from a certain condition. However, they are legal only when in possession of a prescription from a medical professional. Some prescription drugs can be desirable for recreational drug users, and, as a result, they become valuable.

The busts keep coming: two more Memphis cops arrested

They say there are more than 20,000 federal laws, and that Tennessee and the other 49 states each have thousands more. Early last year, Memphis-based rapper BlocBoy JB and his friend, Drake, released “Look Alive,” a collaboration that climbed all the way to number six on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. In July 2018, BlocBoy JB’s South Walnut Bend Road home was raided by the Shelby County Narcotics Unit armed with a search warrant that named James Baker (BlocBoy JB’s real name) as its intended target.

Key steps in a Tennessee divorce

In many ways, the majority of the divorce process is embarked upon before you actually file. This is because it takes a great deal of courage and self-reflection to arrive at the decision to make such a big change in your life.

Burning question: Did this Tennessee man commit a felony?

If you drive 400 miles east of Memphis, you will arrive in Maryville, a town that has been home to Sen. Lamar Alexander and former Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer, among others. One of those "others" is a man recently accused of doing something quite strange. He has been charged with a felony crime, but many wonder if the strange thing he's accused of doing is even a crime.
